"Having fun isn't hard, when you've got a library card!" But it's even more fun when your original artwork appears on the back of your local library's checkout cards.
Two MRH students recently won a contest to have their drawings appear on the backs of the Maplewood Public Library's cards. Five-year old Miriam Steketee, who attends MRH Early Childhood Center, was the winner in the young students category. Her illustration featured a multi-hued, stylized giraffe and a book cart being pulled behind a tractor. Freshman Paul Ryan won his category with a depiction of various mythical creatures surrounded by stacks of books.
All residents of the city of Maplewood, persons owning property in Maplewood, owners of businesses located in Maplewood, teachers in the Maplewood Richmond Heights School District and persons residing in the library districts of the Libraries Without Boundaries lending cooperative are eligible for a free library card.
